Have a question about a bail bond?

Find a Forsyth court date and follow release conditions

Use official case information and the court named on the papers after release.

THE QUICK ANSWER

Use the court and case number on the release papers. Search the official case system, then confirm any missing or conflicting date with that court. A missing online result does not cancel a court appearance.

Bail bond conditions extend beyond payment

Keep a copy of every release order and record the next date, time and location. Read any no-contact, travel, reporting or other conditions that apply. If you need a change or cannot attend, contact the court and your attorney promptly; a request by itself is not an order changing the requirement.

How do I apply for an appointed attorney?

Contact Forsyth County’s Indigent Defense Office at 678-513-5959. It appoints private panel attorneys for qualifying defendants rather than employing a public defender staff. Applications are available at arraignment or from the office, with application intake Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Prepare the financial information requested in the application. The office is on the courthouse’s fourth floor at 101 East Courthouse Square, Suite 4099, Cumming, GA 30040.

People in the Forsyth County Jail can contact the Indigent Defense Office free of charge at 678-513-5959 or through JailATM.

The office publishes a $50 application fee payable by money order. Ask the office what applies if you cannot pay; do not assume you are ineligible for representation.

Can I pay a traffic citation instead of going to court?

For a Forsyth State Court citation, online payment is an option only when the citation is approved for payment. The Clerk says people who were arrested must appear in court. Listed nonpayable charges include reckless driving, speeding 24 mph or more over the limit and cell phone use violations. Use the court’s assigned date and confirm any uncertainty with the Clerk. Cumming Municipal Court has its own appearance requirements.
